The team at Double Fine is offering Xbox 360 owners free digital codes for Kinect Party – the sequel to its eccentric title Happy Action Theater – ahead of the console’s digital store closure later this month.
As a reminder, Microsoft is set to close its Xbox 360 digital store on 29th July, as announced last year. In addition, the Microsoft Movies & TV app on the Xbox 360 will no longer function. Following this date, users will still be able to play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles via backward compatibility.

The Tesla Cybertruck is set to make its official video game debut tomorrow, in Fortnite.

Many other games have featured Elon Musk’s wheels before – but only via unofficial mods. The Cybertruck has been added by fans into Cyberpunk 2077, Rocket League, GoldenEye 007, and even Minecraft.

Now, it’s set to be ownable in a video game for real – years after memes spread online suggesting the Cybertruck looked like a PlayStation 1-era vehicle.

Today, developer Epic Games shared a trailer featuring Fortnite mascot Fishstick riding in a Cybertruck and pulling what I can only presume is meant to be an attractive face, blowing a kiss towards the camera. You can watch it below.

Paramount+ has officially cancelled its divisive live-action Halo television series, with the recently broadcast second season set to be its last on the service.

Season 1 of Paramount+’s Halo series aired back in 2022, nearly a decade after the project was first announced. It launched to a mixed reception, however, drawing criticism for its writing, inconsistent tone, uneven plotting, and pacing. Halo fans also didn’t love the decision to show Master Chief’s face just episodes in, or the decision to show his bum after that. And by the time he was having sex in front of Cortana, even Halo’s co-creator admitted he was “confused”.

UPDATE 7.14pm: Following the news a fully playable version of the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has leaked online, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Interactive have released a statement imploring players to “avoid this unfinished build” and to “not spoil the game for those excited to experience it for the first time at launch”.

Details of an unannounced Aliens Fireteam Elite sequel have seemingly appeared online.
According to an unsubstantiated report on Reddit – so please take all this with the usual bucket of salt for now – the third-person co-op shooter, codenamed Project Macondo, “is a new chapter in the Aliens: Fireteam Elite” and is expected to launch Q3 2025.

Riot Games was reportedly developing a Smash Bros. style fighter set in the League of Legends universe, but pulled the plug on the project earlier this year after perceiving Warner Bros’ Smash-inspired MultiVersus to have been a commercial failure.

That’s according to former Washington Post video games and esports editor Mikhail Klimentov, who – writing in his ReaderGrev newsletter – claims 70-80 Riot employees were working on the Smash-style platform fighter, codenamed Pool Party.

Citing current and former Riot employees familiar with the project, Klimentov says Pool Party was initially envisaged as a hardcore fighting game but grew to incorporate party game elements and casual-friendly mechanics as development continued.

Okami was a “huge failure” in terms of initial sales, director Hideki Kamiya has said. Had it been more successful, its developer Clover “would have probably continued” – rather than shutting down the following year.

Kamiya discussed the development of Okami with Ikumi Nakamura for the YouTube channel of her new studio Unseen. The pair worked together for the first time on the Zelda-like adventure game.

Okami has received plenty of cult acclaim since its release on PS2 in 2006, but was one of only a handful of games made by the Capcom-owned studio before it was dissolved.

Actor David ‘The Hoff’ Hasselhoff – known for his roles in 80s TV series Baywatch and Knight Rider, as well as his music career (I still get Jump in my Car stuck in my head from time to time) – is the new face of an initiative which aims to fight climate change with video games.
It’s called Make Green Tuesday Moves (MGTM). On the first Tuesday of each month, participating studios will launch a collection of ‘green’ items within their games, with these items being exclusive to the movement. MGTM will then invest proceeds from these items into “fully certified sustainability projects by not-for-profit digital platform PlanetPlay”.
And, this month, it is all about that Hoff DLC, with other celebrities expected to follow in subsequent months.

Morhaime announced the new company in 2020, which includes a roster of other ex-Blizzard staff and consists of two distinct studios: Moonshot and Secret Door.
